1-1: The Norton Open shall be guided by the joint decisions of the Board of Directors with final authority over all matters by the Board Chairman.

1-2: Qualifying members of the Board of Directors shall be past tournament champions and anyone living at 121 Norton Street, Mankato, MN from 1980 to 1983.  The board membership term has no limit.

1-3: The Board Chairman shall serve a twenty-year term whereas after the twentieth year, the current Board Chairman shall name his successor. To qualify as a Board Chairman, you most be unanimously voted for by all board members attending the following years Board Meeting.

1-4: The Board Chairman may relinquish his duties upon winning a championship.

1-5: No one person shall serve more then one twenty year term as Board Chairman.

1-6: The Board of Directors shall meet minimally once per year at the discretion of the Board Chairman.

2-1: The Norton Open will be played on the third Saturday in May.

2-2: All players may participate on an invitation bases only or if they come to the tournament with an invited player.

2-3: Golf carts are allowed during tournament play.

2-4: All players are to abide by the official Twigmaster 3000 Handicap Scoring System.  Factors determining the Twigmaster 3000 Handicap Scoring System include, but not limited to, score history, attendance, attitude, and social participation.

2-5: Tie breaker championship play-offs shall take into consideration the pre-tournament handicap of each paticipating player; whereas players with handicaps of 0 - 9 shall receive no bonus strokes, players with handicaps of 10 - 18 shall receive one stroke every other play-off hole, players with handicaps of 19 - 27 shall receive one stroke per hole, and players with handicaps of 28+ shall receive three strokes per every two holes of play.

3-1: The tournament champion shall hit the first ball of the next year’s tournament.

3-2: The tournament champion shall be presented the “Green Jacket”.

3-3: The tournament champion shall return the “Green Jacket” at the following year’s tournament cleaned and pressed.
